The session, which aims to expand cooperation between Iran’s Islamic Republic and the Russian Federation, will be chaired by Iran’s oil minister Mohsen Paknejad, who co-heads the committee, and Russian Energy Minister Sergei Tybilioff.
Under a planned schedule, expert-level meetings will be held over the first two days. Iranian and Russian experts will discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation across various working groups. They address existing challenges, draft a roadmap for future collaboration, and come to a memorandum signed by two ministers.
The meeting follows the signing of the comprehensive strategic partnership treaty between Iran and Russia in January 2024 and the approval of the Iranian parliament’s free trade agreement between Iran and the Eurasian Economic Union in February 2024. These developments further strengthened cooperation between the two countries.
The main discussion topics are expected to include energy, trade, finance, banking, banking, transportation, logistics, customs, industry, mining, agriculture, health, culture, tourism, science and technology.
The 17th Joint Economic Cooperation Committee was held in Tehran in February 2024 and was hosted by Iran’s Ministry of Oil.
