Tehran – Iranian feature film “A Woman With a Wooden Chariot” won the award for the latest edition of the Florence Film Awards.
The Florence Film Awards in IMDB Qualifying is an international monthly film festival. Iranian filmmaker Khodadad Jalali won the Best Director Award for the feature film “A Woman Whode Wooden Chariot” for the February edition.
The 2024 production, the 117-minute drama is about philosophy students Arash and Berman who travel to faraway villages for research. In that idyllic country town, Arash falls in love with Setare.
Their love stories span decades, fighting through coma, healing quests, and time-transcending, revealing a deep quest for the power of love for reality.
The cast includes Mohammad Reza Foroutan, Pouria Pourorkh, Hossein Soleimani, Samaneh Nasri, Fariba Motamed, Ghasem Zare and Mehri Al Agha.
In his previous films, Jalali won the best director award at both the Cannes Mediterranean Film Festival and the Helsinki Festival.
The Florence Film Awards is the monthly and annual international film festival. The series of short films are screened monthly at Imagina Film School’s Florence.
