Tehran – Deputy Tourism Minister Anuvan Moseni Bandopey highlighted Iran’s strategic potential in health tourism and encouraged the expansion of the reciprocity welcomed in the sidelines of the sidelines of the 49th session of the 49th Executive Council of Segovia’s World Tourism Organization.
Tourism officials from Iran and Ghana met each other in Segovia. Mohseni Bandpei met with senior Ghanaian officials, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Tourism and Ambassador.
The two sides also studied and discussed areas of cooperation, including exchanging know-how regarding ecotourism and nature-based tourism.
Based on this discussion, it was decided to prepare the basis for professional interactions between the relevant agencies of both countries to operate these proposals.
Referring to the positive history of bilateral relations and coordinated votes at bilateral forums, the two countries emphasized the continued mutual support in multilateral institutions. This political integrity was seen as an effective foundation for promoting cultural and tourism relations between Iran and Ghana.
One member of the Ghana delegation, a candidate for the position of Director-General of the World Tourism Organization, outlined his proposed programme and approach.
In response, Moseni Bandopei and members of the Iranian delegation highlighted the need for change in the WTO’s human resource structure and justice structure in attracting personnel from various member states.
He said that if appointed WTO executive director, an agenda will be set up to attract talent from the diverse geography of member states.
He criticised the political and biased performance of world tourism organisations, particularly some international conflicts, and emphasized that the WTO should prevent interference in political conflicts.
