“We are preparing an answer that has not yet been finalized. There is a good job being done on that. I think our response is logical. I hope that it will be confirmed in the next few days and that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Oman will be given to the Americans through him,” the Deputy Minister said.
He said the Iranian reaction was indicative of Tehran’s seriousness. It says, “We want to work on certain principles and show that our work makes sense.
“Our feelings are that the text we present is not yet fixed and it is an acceptable text that serves as a basis for work. I think it’s worth working on if there is political will on the other side.”
“In international negotiations, it’s only natural that the text presented is just the beginning. We must negotiate deeper based on that. We can reach agreement more quickly on one part of the text and spend more time on another,” he further argued.
“The fact is that we are not talking about long texts at this point because we don’t want to present comprehensive, long contracts or memorandums that are difficult to prepare and take time.
“The plan we presented is a framework of agreement. If we reach an understanding of this framework as a principle, more detailed negotiations will begin on that detail. Once an agreement is reached within this framework, I believe that an agreement will emerge that will satisfy both parties,” the Deputy Minister concluded.
