The damage caused by the Iranian attacks has “stopped record levels,” YNET said it says Israeli tax authorities daily.
Israeli officials say 53,599 record claims have been filed for direct damages during the war for just 12 days.
The loss came when the Wiseman Institute of Science, a laboratory with close links to the Israeli spy agency, Mossad, was severely damaged, forcing many companies to close for a long period of time.
Authorities warned that the total losses, including indirect damages such as business interruptions, were much higher, highlighting the unprecedented heavy prices Israel paid for attacks on the Islamic Republic.
“Currently, direct damage is estimated at over NIS 4 billion ($1.1 billion), and indirect damages that have not yet been calculated will be billions,” said Tax Authority Director Shea Ahalonovic.
So far, the Property Tax Compensation Fund has paid NIS 1.6 billion ($430 million) for direct damages.
On June 13, Israel launched a blatant, unprovocative act of aggression against Iran, triggering a 12-day war that killed at least 1,064 people across the country, including military commanders, nuclear scientists and ordinary civilians.
The United States also took part in the war by bombing three nuclear sites in Iran with a serious violation of international law.
In response, Iranian forces targeted strategic sites across the occupying regions and Aldeid Air Force Base in Qatar, the largest US military base in West Asia.
