Tehran – The Iranian short film “The Winner,” written and directed by Mahsa Akbarabadi, has been selected to participate in three international film festivals.
The 2024 production, the eight-minute fiction film will be participating for the first time at the 12th showreel, the Effat International Student Film Festival, held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from April 15th to 17th.
Next month, I will be attending the Nature and Sustainability International Photo and Film Festival in Veszprém, Hungary, from May 15th to 18th.
From June 5th to 7th, Iranian films will compete at the 3rd Vegan Chi Frik Short Film Festival in Izmir, Turkey, Irna reported.
Based on the short story “Camera,” written by famous Iranian writer Houshang Moradi Kermani, Flick is about a female student visiting a zoo to participate in a photo shoot race, but her camera is stolen, leading to unexpected events.
Yasna Ghellari, Mostafa Fazeli, Rambod Motallebi, Sanaz Almasi, Hossein Kalhor, Amirabbas Ghazizadeh and Iman Mahmoudyaz are participating in the cast.
Showreel is Saudi Arabia’s first international film festival, celebrating student films and media projects in live-action, animation and documentary formats. Its mission is to enable emerging filmmakers to share their fascinating stories with a global audience.
Planet Lens is a film production competition that offers filmmakers around the world the opportunity to showcase their platform and the latest productions. The festival was a film production showcase exploring the negative and positive effects of human activity on climate change and nature. In addition to this year’s special feature (and specially awarded) categories on biodiversity, we welcome all such films in 2025.
The third part of the Vegan Shayftric Short Film Festival is based on the theme of “animal freedom.” The purpose of the festival is to provide space to encourage and provide for the production of short films and video artworks that pay attention to rights violations of farms, slaughterhouses, laboratories, zoos, circus, natural habitats, and many other fields in line with human desires.
