“At the recent NAM Ministerial Summit in Kampala, more than 120 countries joined Iran to recognize the reality. UN Security Council Resolution 2231 expires tomorrow, October 18. This ends all previous Security Council restrictions on Iran and removes Iran from the Security Council agenda,” Iran’s top diplomat wrote on Friday night X.
“As a signatory to the NPT, Iran remains bound only by its rights and obligations under the treaty, including placing no limits on the scale of its nuclear program and cooperating with the IAEA only within the framework of the Comprehensive Safeguards Agreement and in line with the law recently adopted by the Iranian Parliament.”
Araghchi further pointed out that the illegal measures advanced by a few isolated governments are rejected by the majority of countries. “Those who insist on distorting reality will only become further isolated on their current path.”
“Iran’s sovereignty is non-negotiable and cannot be influenced by political pressure. The rule of law, not coercion, must prevail,” he concluded.
