He made comments in a letter to the UN chief and the UN Security Council (UNSC) president on Thursday.
The United States on Wednesday rejected a resolution by the UN Security Council to call for an “immediate, unconditional, permanent” ceasefire in Gaza. The United States was the only country opposed the resolution. Fourteen others, including the UK, voted in favor. According to Press TV, there was no absenteeism.
Irabani said the allegations against Iran during a meeting on the UN Security Council were “completely unfounded, unreliable or legal foundation.”
He stressed that Washington’s anti-Iran allegations aimed at protecting the Israeli regime from accountability for continuing violations of international law in Gaza.
“It is once again embarrassing and shameful to prevent the United States from thwarting the attacks, as it prevents the United States from once again blocking claims at a time when the Security Council must act with unity and urgency to end the unparalleled suffering of the Palestinian people, merciless bombardment, forced artillery, forced evacuation, hunger, and the systematic destruction of civil infrastructure.
“This calculated bias serves a single cynical purpose: to protect occupation and secular Israeli regime from accountability for the continued and terrible violation of international law,” the Iranian diplomat said.
“More badly, the veto of the US resolution proposed by elected members of the Council and aimed at establishing an immediate, lasting, unconditional ceasefire represents the abuse and abuse of responsibility entrusted to the unclaimed security council to ensure that unobstructed humanitarian access is ensured.
“This is not an isolated incident, but a continuation of the deeply troubling pattern we have witnessed throughout the past 19 months of the Israeli war of massacre against the people of Gaza,” he pointed out.
“By protecting the Occupation Regime from Accountability once again, the United States has actively enabled the continued devastating military campaign that has already killed tens of thousands of civilians, mostly women and children, pushing Gaza to the edge of its absolute collapse,” he continued.
Irabani emphasized that Iran’s principled position in supporting the Palestinian people and their justified resistance to occupation was entirely based on the UN Charter, international law and related UN resolutions.
He emphasized that their legitimate resistance to Iran’s principled position and profession in supporting Palestinians is entirely based on the UN Charter, international law and related UN resolutions.
Irabani said that criticizing others for the outcome of Israel’s illegal and brutal campaigns is nothing more than a deliberate distortion designed to exempt Israel’s criminal regime.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran is based entirely on the UN Charter, international law, particularly relevant UN resolutions, particularly the numerous Security Councils, in particular the Islamic Republic of Palestinians’ principles, support, and professions.
