Regarding the long-standing issue of water rights between Afghanistan and Iran, Vikdeli argued that recent debate between the two sides has led to a resolution.
He said, “During the recent visit of the Foreign Minister, Afghan officials reaffirmed their commitment to the treaty and expressed their willingness to address the water-related challenges of Sistan and Balusestan with an Islamic and brotherly approach.” I stated.
Additionally, Vikdeli praised Afghanistan’s ban on opium cultivation and drug trafficking, and affirmed Iran’s preparation for cooperation in countering drug smuggling and terrorism.
“The fight against terrorism and extremism is an important area of cooperation between our countries. At present, both countries are working together in combating terrorism,” he said.
