Qassem Al-Ariji, the Iraqi national security adviser, met visiting brigadier Majid Mirahmadi and his delegation accompanied by Iran in his office on Tuesday.
A statement issued by Alariji’s office said during the meeting they discussed local security challenges and threats, as well as other issues of common interest, and measures to maintain joint security and stability based on the principles of good neighbors.
The two also exchanged opinions on the measures necessary to maintain the safety and stability of the region.
At the meeting, Al-Arij stressed at the meeting that Iraq’s stance of refusing to use territory as a basis for invasion against neighboring countries, including Iran’s Islamic Republic, is clear and consistent.
He said Iraq has filed an official complaint with the Security Council against the Zionist Israeli regime as Iraq used airspace to attack the Islamic Republic.
Iraqi security authorities have ultimately repeated that the Iraqi government and military prime minister and commander (Al Sudani) will take all necessary steps to prevent the recurrence of previous invasions.
