Baghdad’s official agreement to open the borders of Chila increased the number of operating border crossings between Iran and Iraq to seven, facilitating annual trade routes between the two countries, the transport of property, and the movement of pilgrims to two sacred shrines in the neighbouring country.
An Iraqi source has announced that the Iraqi border crossing organization has agreed to build two new border crossings with Saudi Arabia and Iran.
Omar Adnan Harin Al Wayeri, director of the Iraq Border Crossing Organization, said at the meeting that seven plans had been approved, the most important of which was the agreement to start a border crossing between Iraq and Saudi Arabia between Iraq and Saudi Arabia’s holy state of Najaf (Al-Awikra Border Crossing), and an agreement to commence the border crossing between Maya and Iraq and Iraq and Iraq. (Al-Garbi-Jalat Border Crossing,) is known as the Iranian side of the border of Iram province of Iran.
Official sources say that Iranian infrastructure, including roads, border guards and customs facilities, has been completed, and in Iraq, Governor Maysan has sent a written consent to the federal government to open the intersection.
