Iraq’s national security advisor, Qasim Mohammad Jalal Al-Alj, praised the wisdom of Iran’s Islamic Republic by turning to dialogue and diplomatic channels to resolve regional issues.
The Iraq News Agency (INA) reported that Al-Alj met with Saeed Khatibzadeh, deputy foreign minister of Iran’s foreign ministry in Baghdad and head of the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s Center for Politics and International Studies.
During the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in solving all unresolved issues in the region and around the world.
They also discussed the relationship between the two neighbouring countries and explored ways to strengthen it at all levels.
This conversation covered efforts to integrate regional development, stability and prevent conflict, and several mutually important issues.
Both sides condemned Israeli atrocities in Gaza, including murder, starvation and genocide, and argued that the international community must take a genuine and serious attitude towards these violations of international law.
