In a statement received by the Iraq News Agency (INA), the ministry said: On the anniversary of the Genocide that opposes the Yazidi element and other segments of our dear people, it is in the hands of the gang of ISIS terrorists.
The ministry expressed “deep solidarity between victims and their families” and emphasized “the importance of international recognition of these violations as acts of genocide, systemic violence and inhumane enslavement.”

He noted that efforts are currently underway to provide sustained support to survivors and their families and work to recover those who have been accused. The ministry highlighted the need to ensure full access to survivors’ rights under Yazidi’s Female Survivors Act No. 8, 2021, through Iraqi embassies and overseas consulates.
The statement renewed Iraq’s appeal against the international community to formally recognize crimes committed against Yazidis and other communities as genocide, highlighting the “necessity of international cooperation to restore and strengthen joint efforts with governments and international organizations to prevent the recurrence of such abuse.”
The ministry asserted that “we will ensure the ongoing commitment to pursuing justice, an international recognition of genocide and on the path to recovery and reparation of those affected by these horrific crimes committed against the people of our beloved nations.”
