Tehran – The Beit Al Jamal Lil van Art Centre in Baghdad is holding a weekly symposium dedicated to the memory of the martyred Iranian painter Mansore Alikhani.
The title, entitled “Art Face War,” was an event that began on Wednesday in the Iraqi capital, bringing together artists from various Iraqi states, Mae reported on Sunday.
It serves both as a homage to the murdered artist and as a strong condemnation of the violence committed by the oppressive Israeli regime, the report added.
The symposium explores the deep role of art in confronting conflicts and emphasizes the importance of maintaining the legacy of artistic figures who have become victims of attacks. It also aims to protect the spirit of enduring art and condemn violence.
Participants will look back on universal themes such as peace, resistance and the power of creative expression in the face of adversity. The event highlights the lasting bond between Iraq and Iranian artists, uniting in artistic expression and a common commitment to combat injustice.
This initiative highlights the important role of cultural exchange in fostering dialogue and understanding in conflict-marked regions.
Additionally, a special exhibition of the works of these artists will be held at the gallery in the centre in Baghdad for interested visitors.
Following the Zionist regime’s aggressive attack on Iran, Mansore Alikani lost his life during an Israeli attack on Tehran’s residential area.
Alikani was a student at Master Kazem Charipa and was a prominent figure in the field of painting, who was also involved in training and research. She was drawing pictures of Asura, the day Imam Hussein (AS) and his companions had taught Martyr at the Battle of Karbara in 680 AD.
