Tehran – Iran’s Red Crescent Association (IRCS) will send relief supplies to those who were hit by the war in Lebanon.
The consignment includes over 500 tons of essential products, including medical supplies, tents, blankets, mats, food and grains. The ISNA cites Babakumahmoudi, an IRCS employee.
The widespread destruction of homes, infrastructure and essential services will prevent the safe return of displaced people from ongoing military activities and the halt of conflict and hostilities during and after the halt of hostilities. These challenges also limit access to humanitarian aid, recovery efforts and protective services, leaving affected groups in long-term vulnerability.
IRCS speeds up delivery of aid to UN Lebanon
On October 9, 2024, IRCS Head Pilhosine Koliband and Iran’s UN resident coordinator Stephen Pleenor spoke about the tragic situation in Lebanon and how to speed up the provision of aid to those affected by the war.
During the meeting, Koliband condemned the brutal attacks of Zionist regimes in Gaza and Lebanon, the IRCS website reported.

He called for immediate UN intervention to end the attack.

Koliband highlighted the urgent need for Lebanese people for medicine, medical devices, food and essential items, and announced that IRCS is ready to send more shipments of humanitarian assistance. He also emphasized the need for active participation and cooperation of the United Nations on the ground.
