Tehran – Rescue workers at Iran’s Red Crescent Association (IRCS) are those who give their lives to save people. They go deep into the case to rescue trapped people without delay or hesitation. Amir Momeni is one of the rescuers who talk about the stressful minutes between storms and fires.
Momeni, head of the Rasht LifeGuard and Diving Board and a member of the Gilan Rapid Response team, is one of these heroes. Those who have dedicated themselves to the IRC since the age of 12 have a prominent presence in every crisis, from the earthquakes and the waves of BAM and Kermanshah to rescue dozens of people.
This time, he has a shocking story of days of intense days in Tehran, a breathtaking battle between shards and time, where he can take life every second, during which the rescuer’s voice was a miracle.
Momeni said: “Since the early minutes of the Israeli missile attack, they were quickly dispatched to Tehran, a team of 11, along with Sniffer Dogs and two equipped vehicles.
He said a second rescue team then joined them, and their number rose to 40.
In addition to saving lives, he began a tile ble clearing operation in the collapsed building of Tehran with the help of a Sniffer dog, they also respectfully removed the martyr’s body from the inside of the building.
His team worked non-stop for four days and one night in Tehran’s local government districts 19, 20 and 2.
“We were present at a place where we would unlock the tile rub day and night. The team leader announced and dedicated the place. We went to the scene and cleared the place.” Over the past few days, they were able to pull three living people from under the tile rub and find 16 bodies.
He explained: “One of the men was locked in a chair and their feet were under the tiled rubber. In fact, there was a second floor of the building under the tiled rubber. This mission was also dangerous to us. But we managed to save the three of them until the Tool arrived.
Momeni continued. “One of my less-than-sized colleagues first went inside. Then I went. We kept safe and connected an oxygen machine. The story presents clear photos of the operational scenes, danger and of course the sweetness of the rescue.
Momeni was referring to one of the sweetest moments of his mission. “The same woman under the tile rub when she was rescued said she thought she would never get out of the tile rub. “My eyes will never see the light again. These words are indescribable motives for Momeni and her colleagues to continue working.
Momeni pointed to the roots of her love for relief efforts. “I was in the red crescent since I was 12 years old. Thanks to Dr. Pilhossain Koliband, I became a member. He pointed out that this particular incident was very rare and stressful. “This incident was really stressful and actually left our lives in the palm of my hand.” He pointed to the training of the red crescent that taught me to stay with and save people. But at the same time, he emphasized his own fear. “I was a bit scared of myself, especially when I rescued the three people under the roof rub, but I entrusted myself to God.”
One of the most striking points in Momeni’s speech is his concerns about his family. “Thanks to God and Mother’s prayers, I have not suffered from these dangerous missions to this day. My family still doesn’t know how much risk I am at. This sentence shows the height of selflessness and dedication of the rescuer, who even hides personal concerns in order to carry out his duties.
Momeni also mentioned the painful incident of the explosion and the rescuer martkyo. “I also attended the explosion and the rescuer’s martianism. They went to provide relief and did not expect another explosion to occur. They were the first team to arrive on the scene. These sacrifices indicate the extent to which rescuers place their lives in the palm of their hands.
Referring to the difficult conditions of surgery, he states: “When this incident happened, they told us to send forces that we weren’t afraid because the drones were circling over us. We were running our mission in these events. The conditions were difficult. We saw the missiles passing by.
Finally, this dedicated rescuer mentioned the psychological aspects of rescue operations. “I have seen some very sad scenes over the past few days, but I personally am trying to erase these scenes from my heart. It is really sad to see the victims’ bodies.
He called for the need for psychological support for rescuers. “In the meantime, if the experts and counselors were with IRCS staff, if they had the motivation to continue the mission, they would see rescuers talking about their sleep and feeling sick and upset.”
Despite all the difficulties, Momeni and his team encourage each other to be ready to serve people with an exemplary spirit. he said proudly.
Perhaps the words of TV actor Reza Kianian in the film he wrote to express his gratitude to the rescuer: “The hero is not like a Superman, but rather like an IRC rescuer who sometimes didn’t go home for a few days…”
