Brigadier General Seyyed Majid Mousavi, the supreme commander of the Revolutionary Guards’ Aerospace Forces, made the remarks on the sidelines of a ceremony in Tehran on Thursday to honor the martyrs of his unit, Press TV reported.
Mousavi stressed that potential aggressors should think twice before considering hostilities against the Iranian state.
He vowed to protect the martyrs’ legacy, calling it “the foundation of Iran’s defense capabilities.”
In his speech, Mousavi paid tribute to martyr Hassan Tehrani Moghaddam and praised his strategic vision in identifying and countering threats.
Tehrani Moqaddam is known as the “father of Iran’s missile program” and is a visionary military strategist who was ahead of his time.
He played a key role in developing Iran’s indigenous missile capabilities during the war imposed in the 1980s, and trained many aerospace commanders to continue the mission.
General Mousavi currently heads the Revolutionary Guard’s aerospace division after his predecessor, General Amirali Hajizadeh, was martyred in Israel’s military invasion of Iran in June.
On June 13, Israel launched a blatant and unprovoked invasion of Iran, sparking a 12-day war that left at least 1,064 people dead in the country, including military commanders, nuclear scientists, and civilians.
The United States also entered the war by bombing three Iranian nuclear facilities in a serious violation of international law.
In response, Iranian forces targeted strategic locations throughout the occupied territories, as well as Qatar’s Al Udeid Air Base, the largest US military base in West Asia.
On June 24, Iran successfully thwarted a terrorist attack through successful retaliatory operations against both the Israeli regime and the United States.
