On the occasion of the sacred Defense Week, commander of Major General Mohammad Pakpur of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) visited the army headquarters and met with Iranian Army commander, Major General Amir Khatami.
During the meeting, Major General Khatami emphasized the Iranian state’s commitment to independence, saying, “After the victory of the Islamic Revolution, the Iranian people put the rightful demand for “independence, freedom, and the Islamic Republic” at the core of their objectives – an approach that strongly targets the enemy of the Iranian state.”
General Khatami emphasized the strategic partnership, solidarity and unity between the Army and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard (IRGC), saying, “The existing unity and coordination of the Iranian military and the IRGC are solid pillars of national security and constitute the key to achieving security and strength.”
He said, “This unity serves as an iron shield that protects our nation from the instigation, plans and plots of our enemies.”
Major General Khatami further stated, “In the sacred era and since then, we have been able to stop the major conspiracy by our enemies, supported by our great nation.”
“Even during the recent 12-day war, standing firm against the demands of the enemy, we have proven that we will not compromise on the national interests again,” he said.
Speaking to the enemy of the Iranian state, he warned, “The enemy should know that a slight aggression will be fulfilled with a unified, swift, intelligent, and powerful response from the Army and the IRGC troops.
Major General Mohammad Pakpur also highlighted the astounding national unity during the 12-day imposed war, comparing it to the early days of the Islamic Revolution and the early years of sacred defense.
He highlighted the important role of leaders in managing the war despite the early defeat of senior commanders.
Pakpour emphasized that the army, along with the people, stood firm against the enemy, and ultimately forced them and their allies to seek a ceasefire. He praised the Iranian state’s exemplary solidarity during this critical time and expressed his gratitude to the people for their resilience.
