The event was attended by the family of martial journalists, along with 15 foreign journalists currently visiting Iran on an invitation from the Sobh Media Center.
The ceremony was attended by Chief Guest and IRIB World Services Director Ahmad Noroozi, with Irib Preside Peyman Jabelli.
Javeli and Noruji expressed their deep admiration for the courage and dedication of fallen journalists in Tehran and Gaza.
Noroozi said the trembling Israeli regime had shown that in order to survive it would do anything that could be capable of even committing war crimes of any kind.
Jabeli also said that the voice of truth cannot be silent by the Zionist entities, and cannot be praised for all those who stood on the right side of history along with truth and righteousness.
Veteran film director Ahmad Reza Darvish was awarded the Crystal Simoog Award on June 16th for extraordinary courage during Israeli invasion.
At the time of the strike, Emami was offering live broadcasts covering Israeli military attacks against Iran. Despite the trembling from the first explosion, she continued the broadcast without interruption.
The ceremony announced the Sahar Emami Special Award from Sobh Media Festival, presented to Hooman Khalili, newsroom manager at Irib.
Speaking to Press TV, Emami pointed out that the Israeli regime is angry with all journalists and media outlets reporting the truth about the attacks, and aims to silence them through targeted attacks.
American journalist Cara Walsh also highlighted the US’s direct promotion of an attack on Iran, adding that Iran is being targeted due to its unwavering support for Palestine and resistance to Zionism.
On June 13, Israel launched a blatant, unprovocative act of attack on Iran, assassinating many high-ranking military commanders and nuclear scientists.
Israeli attacks target military and nuclear sites, as well as critical non-military infrastructure, including Islamic Broadcasting (IRIB), Evin Prison, healthcare centres, outreach centres, and buildings in both residential and rural communities, causing widedepread civilians. These attacks also caused more than 1,000 civilian deaths.
In response, the Iranian army led by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched Operation True Promise III, a powerful and unprecedented retaliation campaign against the Israeli regime.
Hundreds of Iranian ballistic missiles and drones overwhelmed Israeli air defenses and raided major military, intelligence reporting, industrial, energy and R&D facilities across the occupied Palestinian territory.
On June 24, the isolated and abandoned Israeli administration declared a unilateral halt on the attacks announced on behalf of US President Donald Trump.
