Tehran – Isfahan Municipality is set to officially announce spiritual tourist routes in Isfahan, highlighting the mosques located within the city’s ancient bazaar, Alileza Massa said he is presidering over the municipality’s tourism board.
At a press conference at a cultural event focused on spiritual tourism, handicrafts and Muharam rituals, he said that all facilities in the cultural complex in four districts of Isfahan city have now become available at the “Stories of Love and Art” exhibition.
He said, “Our cultural colleagues have recently done their best to prepare the Chahar Bagh Boulevard space.”
The exhibition will last until the age of 22 in the evening, so coordination was made with Isfahan and suburban bus companies to relocate artisans and citizens until then, he added.
Pointing out the special possibilities of ritual tourism in Isfahan, he said that Takt e Fuuradsite is one of the important centers of spiritual and religious tourism in Isfahan.
The site is not only valuable in that architecture and history, gravestone carvings, calligraphy lines, and the mystical concepts engraved on gravestones are itself a living museum of the religious beliefs of the people of this land, he said.
He stated news of the role of the professional office of the National and Ritual Arts of Isfahan Municipality at the event, saying, “This office, with the cooperation of other cultural organizations, will launch stands in Chaharbag and run special arts programs in public spaces. The event is an opportunity to showcase the artistic potential associated with religious and spiritual rituals.”
Massa also stated news of plans for a revival of spiritual tourism in the historic bazaar of Isfahan, adding that the Isfahan Bazaar is full of religious spaces, including traditional Sakahane, mosques, seminaries and Joseynier, rooted in the history and culture of Muharam.
They are all good grounds for planning new tourist routes with a spiritual approach, he noted.
He expressed hope that these new routes could acclimate domestic and foreign tourists with a rarely seen manifestation of Isfahan cultural heritage.
