TEHRAN – The Palestinian Islamic Jihad Resistance Movement’s special envoy in Tehran, Nasser Abu-Sharif, said the terms of the Gaza ceasefire agreement were in line with the group’s original demands since the start of the conflict.
He stressed that the central conditions of the group’s ceasefire are the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza and the release of a long list of Palestinian civilians imprisoned by Israel.
“The resistance never changed its position. It was Israel that had to make concessions,” Abu Sharif said during a visit to the Tehran Times building where he met with the CEO. He said Israel would eliminate Hamas and other resistance groups despite Israel’s large-scale military operation in Gaza, which included “carpet bombing, the killing of tens of thousands of civilians, and violations of all international law.” He emphasized that the main objective had not been achieved. .
Abu Sharif further stressed that the future of Gaza must be determined solely by the will of the Palestinian people and rejects any interference from outside. “This is an internal issue for the people of Gaza to decide. The various Palestinian groups, including Hamas, have always prioritized the demands of the people and will continue to do so.”
