“A spokesman for (IOF) announced that K. Brigadier General has acquired the position of commander of the Air Defense Array and has replaced Brig. G. G., who has played a role in the past four years,” reported Yedioth Ahronoth on Wednesday.
The handover ceremony was held at the Air Defense School under the guidance of Air Force Commander Major General Tomerbar.
This leadership change comes one day after the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) announced seven senior appointments to general staff.
According to the military, the appointment, made by Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir and approved by the Minister of War Israel Katz, is expected to come into effect in the coming months.
These modifications follow the aftermath of the 12-day US-Israel war with Iran, which is characterized by intense missile exchanges.
During the unattacked attacks by the regime, Iran launched a series of retaliatory strikes against Israeli occupied territories.
The attack reported widespread destruction, dozens of deaths and more than 3,000 injuries, causing serious damage to military infrastructure and causing mass evacuation.
The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday that Iran improved its strategic performance during the 12-day war by improving missile launch technology and identifying gaps in Israel’s air defense systems through trial and error.
The missile defense analyst cited in the report investigated the wreckage and open source data and concluded that Tehran has launched more advanced missiles on a longer range from broader geographical ranges deep in Iran.
By improving timing and dispersing targets, Iran has increased the effectiveness of strikes.
“As the war progressed, Iran fired fewer missiles, but their success rates increased,” the report said based on data analyzed by Israeli- and Washington-based think tanks.
