The Palestinian Resistance Movement Hamas says five of its senior members have been assassinated after being directly targeted by Israeli forces on Tuesday.
Gaza’s fragile ceasefire was shattered early Tuesday as Israeli forces launched deadly airstrikes across Palestinian territory, killing more than 400 Palestinians, including children.
“Many government and emergency committee leaders have been marching in the Gaza Strip as a result of the brutal and sudden attacks in the Gaza Strip at dawn,” the Resistance Group said in a statement.
“These leaders, along with their families, were martyred after being directly targeted by Zionist Occupation aircraft.”
Hamas government head Essam al-Dali, Mahmoud Abu Watfa of the Ministry of Home Affairs and Bajat Abu Sultan, Director of Internal Security Services, Hamas said, one of the martialists.
According to Hamas, these leaders were responsible for distributing aid, preventing “thieves” and “thieves” (actually collaborating with the Zionist regime), protecting the safety of the Palestinians, and ensuring equity and social cohesion in the most challenging situations.
“They are being assassinated to create chaos, hunger, and internal conflict.”
In another statement, the Gaza government’s media office said that the two police officers were among those who were assassinated.
These leaders said, “Since the beginning of this war of genocide, they have worked tirelessly by those who have eased their suffering and fulfilled their responsibilities with dedication and sacrifice.”
Hamas also reiterated that resistance “will become stiff with our nation opposed to this brutal attack.”
