At least 30 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli military strikes across the Gaza Strip, Al Jazeera reported Thursday, in the deadliest days since a U.S.-brokered ceasefire on October 10.
According to medics, an airstrike hit a house in the town of Bani Suhaila, east of Khan Yunis, killing three people, including a girl, and injuring 15 others.
Al Jazeera also quoted a senior city official in central Gaza warning that toxic substances from Israeli shelling could seep into the Gaza Strip’s groundwater, further threatening its already devastated water system.
Israel’s blockade has prevented heavy machinery and essential equipment from entering the area, leaving authorities unable to remove debris that still buries thousands of people or carry out extensive repairs to destroyed infrastructure.
