The FFC said the military attacked the ship Conscience carrying 93 journalists, doctors and activists before attacking and intercepting three smaller boats on Wednesday.
The passengers were said to be “detained in unknown conditions.”
The Israeli Foreign Ministry confirmed that an attack on the convoy took place on the X.
“Another futile attempt to break through the legal naval blockade and enter a combat zone has come to nothing,” the ministry said.
“The vessel and its passengers will be transferred to an Israeli port. All passengers are safe and in good health. All passengers are expected to be quickly deported,” it added.
Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said he strongly condemned Israel’s actions and called for the release of the Malaysian activists participating in the platoon mission.
The convoy reportedly also includes Irish, French and Danish activists.
The FFC, an international network of pro-Palestinian activist groups that organize private maritime missions, said the ships were carrying more than $110,000 worth of “critical aid” including medical supplies, respiratory supplies and nutritional supplies to be sent to starving hospitals in Gaza.
“The Israeli military has no legal jurisdiction over the high seas,” the organization said on Instagram. “Our fleet will not harm you.”
It was the second similar incident in recent days, following Israel’s seizure of around 40 vessels from another relief convoy, Global Smud Frotra, which were delivering supplies to Gaza, and the abduction and detention of more than 450 activists. Israel subsequently expelled most of the activists, including Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg.
