Anthony Lowenstein, author of the Palestinian Institute, told Al Jazeera in Sydney, the book examining Israel’s arms and surveillance industry that the latest diplomatic sphere between Israel and Australia is “theatres.”
“Obviously there isn’t much love lost between our prime minister and Israel,” he said.
“However, the important thing to know is that Australia continues to trade with Israel throughout this period, starting October 7th (2023). As part of the global supply chain of F‑35 Fighterjets using Gaza, Israel is sending and selling millions of dollars worth of goods, including coal and weapons components.”
He said he was angry that many Australians had stronger government rhetoric, but little concrete action was made against what they viewed as Israeli atrocities in Gaza.
