Israel will not allow it to proceed with a planned meeting in Ramallah, the Palestinian administrative capital of the occupied West Bank, said Israeli officials after reporting that the media has stopped coming from coming the Arab foreign ministers who are planning to attend.
The delegation included ministers from Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, Palestinian officials said. The minister would require Israeli consent to travel from Jordan to the West Bank, Al Jazeera reported.
Israeli officials told Reuters that the minister intended to participate in a “provocative meeting” to promote the establishment of a Palestinian state.
“That kind of nation will undoubtedly become a terrorist state at the heart of Israel’s land,” the official said. “Israel will not cooperate with such a move aimed at harming it and its safety.”
Palestinian officials said the issue is being debated whether the meeting in Ramala could move on.
