Israeli forces have carried out air raids targeting what is known as military bases and command centres in southern Syria and the capital Damascus.
Israeli fighter jets struck the town of Kiswe, about 20 km (12 miles) south of Damascus and the town of Della in the south late Tuesday, residents, security sources and local broadcaster Syria TV said.
Damascus residents reported hearing the sound of a series of explosions flying several low passes over the capital.
The bombing came hours after Syria condemned Israel’s invasion south and demanded it be withdrawn, according to a statement ending the National Dialogue Summit.
Israel moved its troops to the UN-surveillanced demilitarized zone in Syria after the removal of President Bashar al-Assad.
On Sunday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called for “demilitarization” of southern Syria, saying Israel would not “permit new Syrian troops to move to territory south of Damascus.”
