Israel committed a “extinction” crime by attacking Palestinian civilians refuge in Gaza schools and religious sites, according to Al Jazeera, a report from the Independent UN Commission.
The UN Commission on Independent International Inquiry on Occupied Palestinian Territories, including East Jerusalem and Israel, filed the charges in a report released Tuesday.
The report also said Israeli military committed war crimes. “Involves intentional killings in orders to attack civilians and attacks on educational facilities that have caused civilian casualties.”
“We are seeing more and more indications that Israel is running a coordinated campaign to eliminate Palestinian lives in Gaza,” former United Nations High Commissioner, Chairman Nabi Pillay, said in a statement.
The report said Israel has destroyed or destroyed more than 90% of Gaza’s schools and university buildings, and more than half of all religious and cultural sites on the territory.
