The Zionist regime repeatedly used Iraqi airspace during attacks on Iranian territory. This is an action that has attracted criticism from officials in Baghdad.
Al Sudani said that the Zionist regime’s violation of Iraq’s airspace was a violation of Iraq’s sovereignty and a violation of the UN Charter. “We have officially filed a complaint with the UN Security Council on this issue.”
He emphasized that Iraq pursued a balanced diplomatic approach, conveying its message to its allies, and that its sovereignty cannot be negotiated.
Commenting on the provocative rhetoric of US and Israeli officials, Al Sudani warned that attempts to destabilize Iran’s Islamic republic will have dangerous consequences for the entire region.
The Iraqi Prime Minister further said the expanded war could have jeopardized Iraq’s security and stability, affecting the energy supply and oil exports to the regional countries. “The grand religious authority of Najaf has issued warnings about the dangers of continuing war, and the government has not directly involved Iraq.”
