TEHRAN – Palestinian doctors in Gaza are reporting dozens of casualties after the occupation regime bombed schools.
Israeli occupation forces continue their genocide wars in the Gaza Strip, escalating attacks on civilians and shelters in a ruthless campaign of destruction.
On Monday, Israeli fighters bombed the Fami al-Jarjawi school in Gaza’s Daraj district, setting fire to tents and killing at least 36 Palestinians.
Many of the victims were burned alive, and many of the people killed were women and children, including 11 members of one family who died in the brutal air raid. The death toll is expected to rise.
At the time of the strike, the school was protecting the displaced people.
The airstrikes caused a massive fire inside the building, and rescuers later recovered the burnt body, highlighting the extreme brutality of the attack.
Initially, the Gaza Ministry of Health struggled to identify some of the victims due to the severity of the burns. Reports show that the strengthened missiles have been used, penetrated the upper floors and reached lower levels.
The government media office in Gaza has issued a statement raving about what it labelled “brutal massacre.”
The 18 children were among the victims of the massacre, characterized as “a direct continuation of the ethnic cleansing and genocide,” according to the statement.
In another attack, the Gaza Civil Defence reported that 19 Palestinians were killed when an Israeli strike struck a home that evacuated civilians in Jabaria, northern Gaza.
Witnesses described the horrific explosions and continuous airstrikes throughout the besieged enclave.
The occupation regime launched waves of demolition of houses and airstrikes in several areas, including Beit Rahia, Shujaya, Al Tifa and Al Karara.
At the Al-Magazi refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip, occupying forces attacked tents protecting displaced people in kindergarten.
The ongoing US-backed Israeli genocide has killed 53,939 people and injured 122,797 people, according to Gaza’s Ministry of Health.
Since the resumption of the US-backed war of genocide on March 18th, “3,785 people have been killed and 10,756 have been injured.”
