At least 115 Palestinians have been killed in waves of Israeli attacks throughout the Gaza Strip as indirect ceasefire talks continued between Israeli and Hamas.
At least 61 people died overnight and early Thursday in the barrage of attacks on the southern city of Karn Yunis, local health officials said. In Jabaria, in northern Gaza, Israeli strikes against Al-Tauba’s clinics have killed at least 15 people and injured several others, the health ministry said.
The Israeli Army has also attacked three hospitals in northern and southern Gaza, Al Auda Hospital in Jabaria, Indonesian Hospital in Khan Eunice and European hospitals that Gaza’s Ministry of Health say are currently serving.
As Israel has intensified air attacks on residential areas, Al Jazeera Tarek Abu Azm reported by Der El Bala described “another bloody day” in Gaza.
“The Israeli fighter jets directly targeted nine homes in the city of Khan Yunis without warning,” he said, adding that the whole family had been “completely wiped out.”
He described the situation as confusing, and civilians repeatedly fled from forced evacuation orders. “The Israeli forces targeted civilians while they were sleeping,” he said, launching 13 air raids in the Jabaria refugee camp and nearby areas. He added that civil defense teams are struggling to save those trapped under the tiled rub because they are overwhelmed and lacking equipment.
Abu Azoum said the strike “reflects a pattern of attacks that are not intended for military targets.”
Hamas said in a statement that Israel had been making “a hopeless attempt to negotiate under a fire hideout” as an indirect ceasefire talk was held between Israel and Hamas, involving US envoys and Egyptian intermediaries in Qatar and Doha.
