The strike on Tuesday targeted areas near the Palestinian refugee camp and “made preliminary casualties of two deaths and three wounded,” the province said, according to a Tehran-based press conference. The death toll later rose to three.
In a statement, Israeli forces alleged that Hamas members were killed in the attack.
The attack occurred despite a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon, which reached late November. Israeli forces continue their attacks in southern Lebanon for almost a day, increasing tensions in the region.
The Qatar-mediated ceasefire talks also became ongoing ceasefire talks between the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas and Israel.
US President Donald Trump, who hosted Israeli Benjamin Netanyahu in Washington on Monday evening, claims that Gaza’s ceasefire talks are “going very well.”
Hamas has constantly stated that the ceasefire agreement should include the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza.
