Speaking on the phone with Iraqi Minister of Paim, Muhammad Shaiya al-Sudani, President Masuud Pezeshkian emphasized, “We did not start a war, but we responded resolutely. If these attacks are repeated, we are waiting for the attacker, which is even more painful.”
Pezeschkian added: “All countries that truly desire peace, security and stability must stand on the boundary of facing the invasion of the Zionist regime.”
“The Iraqi government emphasizes that greater vigilance and protection must be made at its borders and airspace to prevent Iraq’s territory from being abused against the Islamic Republic of Iran,” he added.
He once again highlighted the common responsibility of Islamic countries for the Zionist regime’s attacks.
The Iraqi Prime Minister expressed his apology to the Iranian senior military commanders and innocent martial arts following the attacks by the Zionist regime, saying, “We stand on your side against the same trench shared with the Islamic Republic of Iran and strongly condemn the Zionist regime’s aggression.
Sudani emphasized that “Iran’s response is classified as a decisive and sincere response to a regime created based on a legitimate defense against the integrity of Iran’s territory and a violation of the occupation of the rights, crimes and rights of other countries.”
He said his country has sent a complaint to the UN Security Council about airspace violations by the Zionist regime, saying “legal, political and diplomatic follow-up is ongoing in this regard.”
Al Sudani concluded that “all facilities of the Iraqi government serve the service of the Islamic Republic, a friendly and brotherly country, and that widespread measures have been imposed to prevent repeated invasions.
