Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office says the planned release of Palestinian prisoners on Saturday has been suspended “without the release of the next hostage, without a ritual of humiliation.”
Previously, Hamas said the seventh batch of Palestinians was “delayed in Israel’s delay in releasing contracts to suspend “blatant violations” at the agreed time.
“Anger and sadness” in Gaza after Israel postponed the release of detainees
More than 400 of the 620 Palestinian detainees scheduled for release on Saturday are from Gaza. Includes women and children.
Some of these families are responding to Israel’s decision to stop the release.
“The prisoners’ families are in a state of anger, sadness, resentment, and the mediators play a role when they begin to complete it so that the prisoners’ families can enjoy it. Bassam al-Hativ has said:
“You have received prisoners, so why delay the extradition of our Palestinian prisoners? This is a heartbreaking thing, a lack of commitment, a ignorance of all international standards and laws, and a book It ignores the countries that sponsor the contract,” he added.
Badar Abu Alia, a family of Palestinian prisoners who are due to be released on Saturday, said the detainee relatives came to welcome their loved ones along with their young children.
The family waited all day in the cold and rain, he said.
“We came with our wife and children. As you can see, these are all family and we were surprised to see there was a delay, and this time it puts a burden on us.
“As you can see, the people are devastated. Hopefully, God will help them and they will be released as soon as possible,” he added.
