TEHRAN – Palestinian resistance forces have launched a more deadly operation against Israeli occupation forces in Gaza.
Resistance fighters carried out a specialized operation against Khan Yunis’s Israeli occupation forces (IOF).
These target explosive devices and IOF vehicles, while the Hebrew media imposed a blackout on incidents in southern Gaza.
The Israeli occupation recognised that one of its soldiers was killed and several others were injured.
The Resistance Forces announced that they targeted and burned the D9 military bulldozer with a Yasin-105 shell, located east of Khan Yunis.
Armed wings of Hamas, the Alcasam brigade, fired a gathering of IOFs in a mortar round south of Khan Eunice, saying these operations were part of the response to the ongoing Genocidal war in Gaza.
Armed wings of Palestinian Islamic Jihad, the Al-Quds brigade, have confirmed that they have targeted a gathering of IOF soldiers and Israeli cars near Street 5, north of Khan Younis, where the 60mm mortar shell is located.
They also exploded a powerful barrel bomb that had been planted earlier, attacking IOF military vehicles in the Abasan al-Kavila region, east of the city.
The Hebrew media reported interactions in a fierce gunfight at Khan Eunice, maintaining strict blackouts over details of the incident.
They said that a “security incident” occurred in the area but no further information was provided.
Previously, the Al-Kassam Brigade released footage of a close-range collision with the IOF on the east side of the Jabaria camp in northern Gaza.
Meanwhile, Channel 13 of the Occupation Regime acknowledged the failure of Operation Gideon Tank, which failed to achieve the target declared in Gaza despite the high cost of humans and materials.
The Channel said the Prime Minister and Chief of Staff had pledged that the operation would “decisively address Hamas,” but the outcome was against it.
It questioned what was achieved other than the deaths of many IOF soldiers.
The channel said the number of Hamas members in Gaza remains unknown, saying, “Before we move on to the next stage, someone has to take responsibility: who must drag us into this operation.”
Ministers of the Israeli government approved the “Gideon Tank” plan in early May 2025 to achieve “decisive” military and political results in Gaza.
The plan included three phases using five pressure tactics against resistance fighters, aiming to force Hamas to swap prisoners and dismantle its military structure.
According to a report from the administration’s public broadcaster on May 5, 2025, one of the main objectives of the operation was to occupy the entire Gaza Strip.
Despite the siege and ongoing genocide, the IOF failed to achieve its declared goal. While resistance continued, causing major losses to the IOF, it was unable to forcefully release Palestinian territory or control Palestinian territory.
