According to Al Jazeera, Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that passengers from Maderien from the ship seized in international waters yesterday have been moved to Ben Gurion Airport for deportation to their respective countries.
Israel also said Palestinian activists must sign the terms of deportation. Otherwise they will be brought before the judge.
Amnesty International issued a statement condemning the seizure of Madelians by Israeli forces, noting that the ship is part of a humanitarian mission aimed at breaking illegal blockades in the Gaza Strip.
The statement emphasizes that Maderien is carrying unarmed civilians on a humanitarian mission, and the seizures constitute a blatant violation of international law.
It also reminded me that Israel, as a right to occupation, is obligated to ensure civilian access to Gaza food and medicine under international law.
