Tehran – Israeli occupation regime began Syria’s most extensive artillery fires beginning the beginning of this year.
Around 20 airstrikes have been carried out by the Israeli regime, targeting Damascus, its suburbs, Hama, Idlib, Latakia and Dara areas. The strike collided with the warehouse and the military center.
Local sources have shown that the airstrikes targeted areas surrounding the Syrian Battalion headquarters and the former Tishleen Military Hospital in northern Damascus, as well as military camps, facilities and storage sites in mountainous regions.
At least one civilian was killed and several others were injured in the attack.
Israeli media reported that some of the Damascus targets had not been hit before.
According to Sana, the official Syrian news agency, in Hama, an air defense warehouse belonging to the former Syrian army was attacked and four people were injured.
Syrian media said the airstrikes were also reported in the northwest Idlib province and rural Latakia, with two people reportedly being injured.
In southern Syria, the Israeli Jets targeted areas near rural towns north of Dara and attacked camps used by the former 175th Regiment of Syrian forces.
The Syrian Human Rights Observatory described the strike as “the most intense wave of airstrikes and bombings since the beginning of the year.”
At the same time, the Israeli helicopter reportedly landed at as suwayda as Syria’s Swayda and unloaded the shipments of military aid, sources told local news outlets.
Earlier on Friday, Israeli occupation forces announced they had targeted areas near the presidential palace in Damascus, where Ahmad Alshara, the self-appointed president of Syria’s transitional government, is home to the president of the Damascus.
After the strike, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a joint statement with Army Minister Israel Katz, saying, “This is a clear message to the Syrian regime. We will not allow Syrian military deployment in the southern part of the country or any form of threat to the Druze community.”
Katz further warned that “Israel will respond with force if the Syrian government fails to protect minorities.”
Some experts have shown that the Israeli regime is using concerns from the Druze community as an excuse to further undermine Syria’s sovereignty.
Others note that by limiting Syrian military movements south of Damascus, the Israeli regime highlights the weaknesses of the new government and its military capabilities.
The government-affiliated armed groups launched attacks in several areas south of Damascus, leading to clashes with local fighters, causing casualties on both sides.
These conflicts have renewed tensions and raised concerns about increasing sectarian violence, particularly in the majority of Druze regions.
