Sources told Al Jazeera that the arrest campaign was concentrated in the town of Cobar, north of Ramala, with at least 24 people arrested. Approximately 16 of these have been identified, including former prisoners Hanan Bargouti and other former prisoners.
The home of Nael Barguti, the longest serving Palestinian prisoner in Israel, was released in late February and deported to Egypt – became a military barracks and an interrogation centre for dozens of Palestinians.
Israeli forces also stormed the city of Adhahiriya, south of Hebron at dawn today, searching for Palestinian homes and arrested 10 Palestinians, including three members of the city council.
Other places, arrests were made in the cities of Azun and Bethlehem, and in the town of Beit Frik, east of Nablus.
As of April this year, Israel had imprisoned around 9,792 Palestinians, of which 3,498 were detained without charge, the report added.
