Israeli forces raided the village of Tell, west of Nablus, on Friday night and surrounded homes, Palestinian state news agency WAFA reported, citing the Health Ministry.
They then fired live rounds and stun grenades into the building before entering the building.
Naaman Ramadan, chairman of the Tel village council, said Israeli forces shot and killed 24-year-old Younes Walid Mohammad Shtayeh inside the building.
Ramadan added that occupation forces summoned Shtayeh’s father and that his son was confirmed dead before Israeli forces removed the body in military vehicles and withdrew from the area.
He pointed out that Shtayeh is a member of the Palestinian police, Press TV reported.
The Palestinian Red Crescent said in a statement that Israeli forces prevented medical teams from reaching the man before he was pronounced dead.
Separately, Israeli forces abducted a young man after surrounding his home on the edge of al-Fala refugee camp south of Tuba.
Israeli forces also abducted another young man from Khirbet Humsa al-Fouqa in the northern Jordan Valley.
Additionally, Israeli forces abducted and assaulted dozens of Palestinians in Al-Khalil province on Saturday, before conducting on-site interrogations.
A media activist in the town of Beit Ummal, north of Hebron, told WAFA that Israeli forces stormed several neighborhoods in the town, raiding and looting numerous homes and holding more than 30 Palestinians in the yard of a brick factory for several hours.
Israeli forces also detained several Palestinians in the city of al-Khalil, interrogating them on the spot and assaulting them.
In July 2024, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) declared Israel’s decades-long historic occupation of Palestine illegal.
The ICJ called for the evacuation of all existing settlements in the West Bank and eastern al-Quds.
Although the court’s advisory opinion is not legally binding, it carries significant political weight as it is the first time the ICJ has issued an opinion on the legality of the 57-year occupation.
