Gaza’s fragile ceasefire faced a major test on Sunday after an Israeli airstrike killed at least 15 people in the Gaza Strip.
Aid deliveries were temporarily suspended but are expected to resume on Monday, according to Israeli officials, AFP news agency reported on Monday. The Israeli military later announced that it was again implementing a ceasefire. A week after the US-brokered ceasefire agreement, the situation was calmer on Monday than yesterday.
Meanwhile, Al Jazeera reported that Israeli forces carried out artillery shelling in the eastern part of central Gaza in Deir Bala early on Monday.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff and son-in-law Jared Kushner arrived in the occupied territories on Monday.
Both men are reported to be Washington’s top negotiators overseeing Gaza ceasefire plans and were scheduled to meet with Netanyahu government officials.
