Israeli media has said Justice Minister Yalib Levin will provide a “historical opportunity” to seize the occupied West Bank of the present era.
According to the Israeli era, Levin said:
“The time has come for sovereignty. It’s time for sovereignty to apply it. My position on this issue is solid, and it’s clear.”
The occupied West Bank has been under Israeli military occupation since 1967, but has never been formally annexed. However, after the Hamas attacks on October 7, 2023 and the war with Gaza, Israeli authorities have been redrawing maps of Palestinian territory.
Since then, the Israeli Army has stepped up daily raids and mass arrests, especially in the north, where Israeli bulldozers have destroyed entire residential areas and forcibly expelled at least 40,000 people.
In 2024, 24,700 dunhams (6,100 acres or 2,470 hectares) were classified as “state land” by Israeli authorities, surpassing the 23,000 dunhams annexed between 2000 and 2023.
