According to local health officials, Israeli airstrikes struck several homes overnight on Thursday, killing at least 85 Palestinians across the Gaza Strip, according to local health officials.
Hours later, Hamas launched three rockets in the occupying territories cancelling flights at Tel Aviv’s bin Gurion airport, in its first such attack since Israel ended the ceasefire with a surprising shelling in Gaza on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces had restored blockades in northern Gaza, including Gaza city, and maintained much of the war. It warned residents against using the main highway to enter or depart north, saying only passageways to the south would be allowed on coastal roads.
They also announced additional ground operations in northern Gaza, near the already destroyed town of Beit Rahiya.
After the ceasefire took hold in January, hundreds of thousands of Palestinians returned to the rest of the northern homes. Israel resumed a violent strike across Gaza on Tuesday, crushing a ceasefire that encouraged the release of more than two dozen hostages. Israel denounced a new fight with Hamas for rejecting a new proposal that deviated from the signed agreement by extremist groups.
The Trump administration, praised for helping to mediate the ceasefire, has expressed full support for the Israeli administration. More than 400 Palestinians were killed on Tuesday alone, mainly women and children, according to Gaza’s Ministry of Health.
