Following direct orders from their superiors, Israeli forces have deliberately allowed to shoot and kill unarmed Palestinians awaiting assistance in the Gaza Strip, Mee reported.
According to soldiers and officers who spoke to Haaretz, the commander instructed people seeking food at the aid distribution point to fire, despite knowing that they would not pose a threat.
One soldier described the distribution center as a “slaying field.”
“I was stationed and one to five people were killed every day,” the soldier told Harletts.
“They are treated like hostile forces, crowd control measures, tear gas. They are nothing but fires that live with everything you can imagine: heavy machine guns, grenade launchers, mortar.”
Israel has stopped all aid and goods from entering the Gaza Strip for nearly three months starting in March, pushing the 2 million residents of the besieged enclave into a serious hunger crisis.
