Syrian state media said Israel was hit near the Defense Research Centre in Damascus and hit central Syria on Wednesday.
Israel says it has launched hundreds of strikes at Syrian sites since Muslim-led troops kicked out longtime ruler Bashar al-Assad, and says it wants to prevent weapons from falling into the hands of new authorities considering extremists.
“The strike of Israeli professional aircraft has targeted near scientific research buildings,” Syrian Sana Communications Bureau said.
It also reported an Israeli attack targeting “near Hama city” in central Syria without specifying what was a hit.
The Israeli military said in a statement that it had forced the military capabilities remaining at Hama and T4 Syrian bases, as well as the remaining military infrastructure sites to the Damascus area.
Last month, Israel said it had attacked T4 military bases in Central Homs twice, targeting military capabilities on the premises.
The Syrian Human Rights Surveillance and Observation said “four people were killed in the strike at Hama Military Airport and others were injured, including officials from the Syrian Ministry of Defense.”
The attacks, targeted “the rest of the planes, runways and towers made the airport fully operational,” he said, reporting that Damascus had targeted the research centre in Barze.
After Assad fell on December 8th, the UK-based observatory reported an Israeli strike targeting the centre.
