Tehran – Hebrew media has described Gaza city’s “security incident” as one of the most difficult since October 7, 2023.
Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) reportedly have experienced at least three major “security incidents.” This was the most serious in the Zeitoun district, southeast of Gaza city, where Palestinian resistance forces tried to capture IOF soldiers.
Four soldiers reportedly went missing, and Israeli forces imposed a media blackout on the incident.
At one point, the Hebrew media said, “There is no official information from the Israeli forces regarding the capture operation in Gaza, but reports show that four soldiers are currently being searched after the fierce clash, and the incident is still classified as concern.”
Three incidents occurred in different locations in the southern Gaza Strip.
A fierce clash between the Palestinian resistance fighter and the IOF was reported, with close combat in both Gaza city and Khan Eunice.
The most fierce battle took place in Zeitoun, where Israeli media described the incident as one of the most difficult since the war began.
Fighters from the Palestinian Resistance Group ambushed the forces of the IOF’s Nahar Brigade and attempted to capture the troops in a second ambush. The four IOF soldiers are believed to have not been explained, and the military did not issue an official statement to deny the report.
The IOF reportedly activated the Hannibal Protocol to prevent soldiers from being taken prisoner, but the clash reportedly continued until early Saturday morning as Palestinian resistance fighters joined the battle.
According to an update released after the event, one IOF soldier was killed and at least 11 were seriously injured. The report suggests more deaths among the IOF ranks.
Israeli forces were searching for missing soldiers, but Palestinian resistance forces blocked the surgery by firing mortars and machine guns at the IOF and targeting six rescue helicopters.
The fighters of the Alcasam Brigade, armed wings of Hamas, set up violent attacks, ambushings, and launched the enhanced IOF positions and what was said to be surprised. Israeli media reported that four different IOF positions in Zeitoun were targeted in a short period of time.
Describing the nature of the attack, he pointed out that “Hamas cells emerge from the rooftop rub, carry out a fatal ambush and disappear.”
After the incident, the IOF retreated from Zeitoun and returned to their base.
It bans the release of details about missing soldiers and military censorship is in force. The Hebrew report stated that “military censorship has imposed restrictions on events in Gaza, as usual, amid conflicting reports of whether contact with Israeli soldiers had been lost.”
The Al-Qassam brigade posted a short but pointed message on social media platform Telegram.
In the nearby Arsabra district, IOF soldiers also fell into ambush, prompting regime helicopters to bomb the area. Meanwhile, the IOF Warplanes strengthened their presence on Gaza and launched a flare by air strikes.
The ambush occurred hours before Al-Qassam commander and spokesman Abu Ubaida warned that Israeli plans to occupy Gaza city would be higher at blood prices and would increase the likelihood that IOF soldiers would be captured.
“The criminal schemes of the enemy occupying Gaza backfire their political and military leaders. Zionist forces pay with soldier blood, and new opportunities will emerge from God’s will to capture additional prisoners.”
“Our fighters are ready to take high vigilance with morale, demonstrate exceptional heroism and teach invaders harsh lessons with divine assistance,” the military spokesman added.
The IOF is stepping up bombings in and around Gaza city as the regime’s troops prepare for a ground invasion.
Israeli Army Radio said on Saturday evening that “the Israeli military rejected reports claiming that a capture operation was carried out in the Gaza Strip,” but as military experts pointed out, the occupation regime is in a loss control mode.
