Ali Bahreini spoke in a speech at the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) emergency session held in Geneva, Switzerland on Tuesday.
“There is a clear message to this attack. Though history is not pride in a regime that commits systemic genocide, continuous attacks, and the regime that commits these crimes, for all of us, our inaction and failure to support our legal and moral principles is a serious warning that evil beings have led to the destruction of global order and security,” he said.
Baleini went on to say that the “apartheid” Israeli regime does not adhere to international law and does not believe in negotiations, peace and stability.
He also warned that if the international community remains inactive, regime aggression and expansionism could spread like “cancerous tumors.”
The Iranian ambassador has repeatedly held comprehensive solidarity between the Qatari people of the Islamic Republic and the government, and has expressed his support for holding Israel accountable through various plans and ideas.
UNHRC convened an urgent debate in Geneva on Tuesday to discuss Israeli attacks targeting the leader of Qatar’s Hamas. The discussion was held at the request of the Islamic Cooperation Organization (OIC) and the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council.
At the start of the conference, Minister for International Cooperation, Mariam bint Ali bin Nasser al-Misnad described the Israeli attack as a clear violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
She said aggression poses a serious threat to regional and international peace and stability.
In a joint statement, OIC members strongly condemned Israel’s attacks on Qatar, calling them a violation of the UN Charter and international law.
They also criticized it as a direct attack on Qatar’s mediation process during the Palestinian humanitarian crisis.
