At a meeting at the House Foreign Affairs Committee on Tuesday, Ali Musabi said the terrorists and criminal acts are completely illegal and a violation of all red lines.
The Israeli regime’s strike against Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities not only violates international regulations, but also poses a real threat of radioactive leaks, he said.
The ambassador said the administration is targeting the exact location, but attacked private infrastructure, housing, hospitals and oil refineries, resulting in the deaths of more than 220 citizens and nearly 1,500 injured.
He mentioned the Israeli regime’s attack on Tehran’s national television headquarters, saying the regime once again demonstrated that it was the greatest enemy of freedom of press.
Musabi pointed out that the attack occurred just before the sixth round of indirect talks between the Islamic Republic and the United States in Oman, adding that Washington had hampered negotiations by supporting Israel’s strike.
He said the US continues to conspire in the attack by supplying weapons and intelligence to the Israeli regime.
He said Iran has the right to defend the integrity of its people and territory, as outlined in Article 51 of the UN Charter, adding that Iran has explicitly condemned the UN and independent states of the attack, urging Israel to force it to stop crime.
