“Today, we exchanged lists of hostages and prisoners who will be released according to previously agreed criteria,” Tass reported the Hamas Telegram channel quoted a spokesperson as saying.
Al-Nunu stressed that the list given to Israel indicated a “certain amount” of Palestinian prisoners, but that Hamas did not specify the number of people to be released. The spokesperson also said Sharm El Sheikh’s speech continued “in an atmosphere of optimism” and that the mediator would reach an agreement “with great effort.”
On the evening of October 6, indirect negotiations between Israeli and Hamas delegations resumed in Sharm el-Sheikh. Egypt and Qatar are brokering talks. The United States is represented by special presidential envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, the American leader’s son-in-law.
