Lavrov was speaking in Doha, Qatar when he met the Qatar chief, Daily Sabah reported.
Since taking office last month, US President Donald Trump has disrupted US foreign policy, reaching out to President Vladimir Putin, launching high-level talks with Moscow for the first time in more than three years.
The latest conference will focus on solving diplomatic issues after both countries expelled staff from other embassies during the administration of former US President Joe Biden.
“A meeting like this will be held in Istanbul tomorrow, and I think the results show how quickly and effectively we can proceed,” Lavrov said during a visit to Qatar on Wednesday.
Lavrov and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio met in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia on February 18th.
The two sides then approached while watching Ukraine.
Last Wednesday, Trump branded his Ukrainian counterparts as “dictators” and called on him to “movement fast” to end the war.
The United States sided Russia twice on Monday in a UN vote because it attempted to avoid accusations of invasion of its Moscow neighbors three years ago.
